As temperatures begin to decline, and the weather becomes comfier, the allure of outdoor sports increases dramatically. In a matter of weeks, the lush, green hardwood forests surrounding Wisconsin Dells will evolve into a rust-stained backdrop, accompanied by crisp autumn winds. Undoubtedly, the Wisconsin Dells golf courses will remain attractive to those seeking friendly competition amongst the many windswept timber stands that exemplify the region. In the heart of it all, Sand County Vacation Rentals has a diverse selection of elegant properties, serving as the perfect home away from home for your golf vacation. To help familiarize you with the local courses, we curated a collection of our favorites for you to consider.

3 of Our Favorite Wisconsin Dells Golf Courses

One of the most outstanding aspects of Wisconsin Dells’ golf courses is the ingenuity of designers to incorporate the natural bluffs and unique topography typical of the Driftless Area, a region of the state that was significantly formed by receding glaciers. Whether you’re an avid linksman or an aspiring newbie, the best fairways and greens cater to all degrees of skill. Here are three of our favorites.

Trappers Turn Golf Club

Designed by two-time U.S. Open champ, Andy North and renowned architect and designer, Roger Packard, Trappers Turn is a challenging yet fun foray into the Wisconsin Dells golf scene. This 27-hole facility is broken down into three separate courses: The Arbor, Canyon, and Lake. In addition to the three tracks, Trappers also has a practice facility that features a bentgrass teeing ground, six target greens, and putting and chipping greens that offer a practice bunker.

Coldwater Canyon Golf Course

As the name suggests, this 18-hole, par 71 course features scenic canyons to accompany a newly added Scottish-style links design on the back nine, which offers an entirely different round, yet manages to blend seamlessly with the front. Water hazards are present on a few holes, along with some strategically placed bunkers. Dating back to the 1920s, the layout of Coldwater Canyon is one of the oldest courses in Wisconsin.

Fairfield Hills Golf Course

Technically in Baraboo, just 20 minutes from the Dells, Fairfield Hills is an award-winning 9-hole course that’s geared towards families. With options for 3, 9, 12, or 18 holes, this is an inviting facility for those looking to improve their skills or get in a quick round between activities. One of the biggest draws to this course is the practice area that has a 340-yard target range, ten matt stations, and over 25 grass stations complemented by a practice putting green and bunker.
